About Us
Our Story
The Association of Language and Literacy Educators–Reading Sierra Leone (TALLE-RSL) is a registered non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 2004. It is driven by the belief that strong language and numeracy skills are essential to national development, with a core focus on improving the teaching and learning of these skills across Sierra Leone’s education system.
TALLE-RSL brings together language and numeracy educators from teacher training institutions, polytechnics, and universities to share experience through training, workshops, conferences, and research. Its work aligns with national education policies, including the 1991 Constitution and the 2010 Education Policy, which recognise language and literacy education as key to sustainable development.
Our Mission
TALLE-RSL’s mission is to strengthen teaching quality and learning outcomes in Sierra Leone by building the professional capacity of teachers and teacher educators, advancing evidence-based practice, and supporting inclusive, learner-centred education.
Our Vision
TALLE-RSL envisions a Sierra Leone where every learner, regardless of gender, ability, location, or background, develops strong literacy and numeracy skills through quality, inclusive, and engaging teaching, enabling meaningful participation in society and national development.

TALLE-RSL Strategy for Empowerment and Sustainable Impact
